Trade names are unregulated. Material sold as Taj Mahal quartzite is sometimes dolomitic marble. Ask for a scratch test on the actual slab before purchase.
Cost per square foot lands within roughly ten percent of one another. The real economic difference appears at year five, when a marble installation may want refinishing and the quartzite will not.
